How to calculate volume

Volume measures the three-dimensional space an object occupies, expressed in cubic units. Many shapes use base area × perpendicular height, while round shapes use formulas involving π.

How to calculate the volume of a cylinder

A cylinder volume calculator uses V = πr²h. For a radius of 5 cm and height of 12 cm, the volume is about 942.48 cm³.

How to calculate the volume of a cube

For a cube, multiply the side by itself three times: V = a³. A 3 cm cube has a volume of 27 cm³.

Volume of a sphere

Use V = 4/3πr³. Measure from the center to the edge for the radius, or enter the diameter and let the calculator halve it.

Volume of a cone

A cone uses one-third of the matching cylinder formula: V = 1/3πr²h.
